Clomiphene citrate is a medication primarily used to treat infertility in women. It is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that stimulates ovulation.

In female:
It is used to induce ovulation in cases of anovulation where there is no hypothalamic or pituitary hyperprolactinemia lesion. It is also indicated in secondary amenorrhea to induce ovulation. In patients with menstrual irregularities, it regulates cycles and causes ovulation. Post-clomiphene ovulations occur 6 to 7 days after stopping treatment. Ovarian insufficiency in women wishing to become pregnant.

In male:
It can be used in pubertal delays to stimulate the production of gonadotropins. It has also been used in the treatment of oligospermia.
